One of the ways we do this is by actively developing policies where we contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We subscribe to all 17 goals endorsed by the United Nations, but for FOLBB, the following 4 SDGs are the most important to us:
Our water consumption
We take continuous measures to reduce our water consumption; in recent years, we have achieved significant percentage savings in this area. We are mindful of the natural habitat of our water sources and water flows in our area, ensuring that natural life is safeguarded and enhanced in the streams around our plants
Reduce and recycle
We continuously reduce our energy consumption in our factories. We process renewable materials. We reduce our waste steaming and where possible we ensure maximum reuse. The products we make are recyclable and compostable.
Sustainable forest management
We offer our customers certified FSC and PEFC products. Our wood comes from forests in the immediate vicinity of our factories; these forests are carefully and sustainably managed. The wood we process is a residual product of wood processed in the construction industry, among others
Regional suppliers
We purchase from local and regional suppliers wherever possible. We support local sports clubs, associations and other local initiatives.
